Subject: Free Aquariums, Curricula, and Inspiration.
Dear Life Science Teacher,
We've had many requests from teachers about aquariums.
These aquariums are absolutely FREE, with NO STRINGS
ATTACHED, but must be applied for. We have been informed
that applications will be available in August, 2004. Here
is the useful information. First, please click on the next line,
Where you will see the videos of sea dragons, sea horses,
and jellyfish. Near the top of that page, on the right,
is a green image marked "Educators". Click on that image,
which will take you to another web page, titled "Educators
Resources", with classroom ideas and references to new and
innovative teaching concepts.
Scroll down the Educators Resources page to see the
paragraph that says, "Tetra offers several educational
resources for schools through their Aquademics Program.
Click here for more information about this program."
Click on the word "here" and go to the "Aquademics" page
in Tetra's web site, where you will find additional
Teaching materials.
Tetra sponsors the aquarium program. If you are on our
mailing list, we will send you a notice when Tetra makes
the applications for free aquariums available.
We also invite you to play Pet Fish Talk interviews
with marine and ecological scientists in your classroom.
They may be played AT ANY TIME in any classroom with
Internet access and speakers. The interviews are
interesting and directed towards young people. The enthusiasm
of the scientists comes through and will serve as an
inspiration.
For example, to hear the interview with Dr. Milton Love
about Rockfish, click on the next line now.
Today, more biomedical research is being done with fish
than ever before. Having fish and aquariums in your
classroom is good for science education and career
development.
PLEASE JOIN OUR MAILING LIST to keep up with other
innovations in life science education.
