Paul, who's also from California, is getting back into fish after 40-years and talks about his new 30-gallon aquarium with Serpae Tetras and Live Aquatic Plants.

Roseann asks how long the light should be on her Betta Fish? There is an email that asks how to get a constipated Betta Fish to eat more?
 
Jeff from Cheney, Washington, wants to know about the best way to aerate the water in an aquarium.
 
Doug from Pullman, Washington, talks about his Archer Fish that live in a 75-gallon brackish water aquarium, which has a problem with green algae

Eleanor from Ohio says her daughter is coming home from college and wants to bring her Betta Fish on the airplane. Tom and Nevin give several hints about how to transport a Betta Fish in a fish bowl.
 
Lisa says her Betta Fish's fins have been nipped, and she wants to know if the fins will grow back?
 
Stacey in Portland, Oregon, wants to know if it's safe to use a big stainless steal bowl to condition water for a fish bowl? Stacey also want to know if it's OK to turn off the aeration to an Under Gravel Filter?
 
Dana asks if Convict Cichlids are compatible with Betta Fish in a 2-gallon aquarium?

Vicky calls from West Virginia and says she's been listening to Pet Fish Talk shows in the archive. She also says her Betta Fish is picky eater and will only eat Freeze Dried Shrimp.

Tom says the San Diego Tropical Fish Society will have its yearly show in Balboa Park this Saturday and Sunday, November 6th and 7th. Click here for more information about the SDTFS. Nevin says we'd be happy to make announcements for other fish societies during the shows on Pet Fish Talk.
 
Albert from Las Vegas, NV, calls and talks about the fish in his four aquariums. He says that keeps more fish than he should, and it doesn't always work. But he likes fish a lot and thinks they are fun to have and easy to keep.
 
His favorite fish are several different species of Plecostomus living in a 40-gallon aquarium. He has a Mango Pleco, Gold Nugget Pleco, Rubber Nose Pleco, and one that he thinks is an Emperor Plecostomus.

Albert also likes two Silver Dollar Fish that have lived in his aquariums for several years. Tom says he and Nevin used to have a Silver Dollar long ago that jumped out their aquarium many times onto a shaggy carpet.
