Listening Guide with Comments, Pictures, and Links for this Week's Pet Fish Talk Show

Segment One.
We start this show with a telephone call from Ronnie in Missouri. We talk with Ronnie about breeding fish including Neolamprologus Brichardi from Lake Tanganyika.

Brichardi, a small Cichlid fish from Lake Tanganyika in East Africa. Picture taken at Aquariumfish.net.   This Brichardi lived and spawned in an aquarium in the Bailey Brothers' fish room for several years.

Pierre Brichard once sent Tom and Nevin a big box full of fish from Lake Tanganyika in East Africa. The box included several large Frontosa like this one.

This Peacock from Lake Malawi in East Africa is the same type that Tom and Nevin shipped back to Pierre Brichard.

We continue to talk with Ronnie about some of our interesting fish experiences from the past.

Segment Two.
Rebekah from West Virginia calls and tells us about her Mystery Snails that recently laid eggs just above the water line in her aquariums.

Eleanor has some baby Betta Fish and wants to know how to determine their gender?

Dan from Dallas, who manages the aquatics department in a PETsMART store, calls and gives some hints about diets and supplemental food for fish, including bananas, nuts, red wiggler worms, farm raised crickets, frozen spinach,
zucchini squash, and others.

Segment Three.
Penny from New Hampshire asks about feeding an African Clawed Frog, and she also asks how big will it grow? Click here for more about Frogs.

Brad asks about keeping two Iridescent Sharks, which are also called Pangasius Catfish, in a 72-gallon aquarium?

James G. from England says he has 200 to 300 baby Angel Fish, and he wonders if he should remove the parents or move the babies?

Vince reminds us that he got four Jack Dempsey Cichlids for Christmas, and now he wonders what to get for his next aquarium? He is thinking about Firemouth Cichlids or a Crayfish.

Anne says she has a "Huge Oscar" living in 40-gallon aquarium with water quality problems.

Pamela has a small aquarium with plants in flower pots, and she wonders if she needs to put a hole in the bottom of each pot?

Segment Four.
Josh from Ohio calls and talks about the used 55-gallon aquarium that he is getting tomorrow for a bargain price. Josh is planning to breed Angelfish. Tom and Nevin talk about some of the Angelfish they owned and spawned and about using R/O water to spawn Angels.

Evan from Colorado calls and says he got two more Cardinal Tetras for his small aquarium with baby Mollies.
