First
we quickly summarize last
week's show. Then
...
Gina in Minnesota
calls first again,
and says she she
decided to get a
75-gallon aquarium
instead of a
55-gallon aquarium.
She also got an 8 to
10 inch long Flower
Horn Cichlids with
the aquarium. We
talk with Gina about
why she is being so
successful with her
aquariums?
Nevin talks about
the big Flower Horn
Cichlid, that is now
for sale, in our
facility at
AquariumFish.net.
Adrian from Denver
calls and asks how
to tell the
difference between
the two types of
Mbuna Cichlids named
Socolofi and
Saulosi? Click
here to see a
picture of a male
and a female
Saulosi, and click
here to see a
picture of a
Socolofi without the
dark horizontal line
through its dorsal
fin.
Nevin mentions that
the Mbunas are a huge
flock of similar
fish species with subtle
differences between
the various species.

about the Mbuna
Cichlids from Lake
Malawi in East
Africa.
Adrian also asks
about keeping
Mystery Snails in
his aquarium with
Mbunas, and Adrian
wonders about how to
tell if a Mystery
Snail has died in
his aquarium? Adrian
has some baby
Saulosi Mbunas, and
he wonders what kind
of filter is best
for these babies?
Vicky from West
Virginia calls and
says her baby
Guppies are growing
and doing well in
the aquarium with
her adult Guppies.
Peppermint the male
red and white
Betta is doing well
and now has slightly
changed color and is
looking even better!
We talk with Vicky
about the BIO-Spira
that she saw in a
local pet store in
West Virginia.
Shane wants to know
how to tell the
difference between a
Bronze Corydoras
Catfish and the
Emerald Green
Catfish? Shane also
wonders why his
Corydoras Catfish
are winking at him,
and he wants to know
how and why they
blink? Tom and Nevin
speculate about this
blinking behavior
and discuss
speculating about
fish behavior.
Albert from Las
Vegas calls, and
says he's been
trying to keep his
fish happy, but he
had one of his big
Silver Dollars die,
and the one left in
his aquarium has
just one eye. Nevin
talks about how to
make Silver Dollars
more comfortable and
how to avoid
spooking them.
Albert describes
each of his
aquariums.
Rebekah from West
Virginia calls and
says her Mystery
Snail eggs hatched
and she has two baby
snails. Click
here to go back
to an earlier Pet
Fish Talk Show and
listen to Rebekah
talking about when
she discovered the
Mystery Snail eggs
above the water in
her aquarium.
Rebekah promises to
call back in a
couple of weeks and
tell us more about
her Mystery Snails.
David calls from
Montreal, Quebec,
and says he has a
50-gallon aquarium
with Cardinal Tetras
and Harlequin Rasboras.
David wonders if he
can keep some Rams
in this aquarium?
Rams are small dwarf
Cichlids with the
scientific name
Mikrogeophagus
ramirezi. Once again
Tom and Nevin
recommend some R/O
water for these
fish. David says he
has some peat moss
pellets in his
aquarium. David also
says he had a bad
experience with an
aggressive
Tiger Loach in his
aquarium.
Donnie wants to
breed Bettas and
wonders if it
requires a
government permit?
Richard treated the
water in his
aquarium with a
Water Conditioner,
and it killed all of
his fish. Tom and
Nevin agree with
each other that this is
probably a
coincidence, but
they wonder if
Richard changed more
than 20% of the
water in his
aquarium on one day,
which is risky with
or without Water
Conditioner.
Jerry wonders about
compatible tank
mates for Guppies.

information about
Guppies, including

wonders if Seahorses
can live with
Guppies?
Vince N. wants to
know about Triops
and how to reproduce
them in his
aquarium. Click

about Triops.
Michael says he
added laterite to
his aquarium and now
his plants are growing
much better. Click
here to read two
emails from Michael
about his aquarium,
his fish, and
raising live plants.
Travis says he's
been listening to
Pet Fish
Talk Shows in the
archive, and he's learned a lot.
Travis needs to give
one of his Zebra
Danios the
Recommended
Treatment, but he
wonders if his Bushy
Nose Pleco can
tolerate aquarium salt.
Melissa has a snail
problem in her
55-gallon aquarium,
and she also has a
snail problem in her
2.5-gallon aquarium.

13-years old and
wants to start a

He wonders what he
needs?
Suzie says about a
month ago she bought
some Mollies and
Platies for her
5-gallon aquarium,
and she wonders if
she needs a bigger
aquarium.
Matt says that his
Oscar is developing
"Hole in the Head"
disease. Click
