Pink Convicts from
Black and Grey
Convicts? "I was
just curious about
black convicts my
brother gave me 6 of
them i had them in a
75 gallon tank well
they had babies and
my kids wanted to
put them in another
tank so as the got
big enough we
scooped them out and
put them in a 30
gallon tank it was
pretty cool watching
them grow well
anyway there's about
11 babies and 4 of
them are pure white
the parents are
black and grey i was
wondering is this
common and if you
buy them at a pet
store how much would
they go for any
input is appreciated
thank Scott "
A Nice
Letter from
Australia. "Dear
Tom and Nevin, Hi!
My name is Anastasia
A. and I have been
listening to your
show, Pet Fish Talk,
for about three
years. I very much
enjoy your show and
feel I have learned
so much from your
show and website!
Keep up the great
work!! I recently
picked up a couple
of fish magazines,
from a recent Pet
Expo that my family
attended back in
August."
"I have cut out what
I thought were the
most interesting
fish articles and
have enclosed them,
along with this
letter. I hope you
both enjoy them."
" P.S. I hope that
Mother Bailey is
doing better and
will be home soon!!
Although I live in
New South Wales,
Australia, I myself
am originally from
Wisconsin, just like
Mother Bailey! Thank
you ... Mrs.
Anastasia A."

How to Grow Live
Plants.
Mr. Jonathan Dooley in Indiana,
calls and gives lots
of good advice about
How to Grow Live
Plants in an
aquarium. After the
show he sent an
email with several
lists of the items
that he discussed
during the show.
"Heres some of the
links from things I
talked about today.
:)
"Also, from the NOVA
program you were
refering too, one of
the people that had
tanks on the show
was Diana Walstad,
author of "Ecology
of the Planted
Aquarium"
(shown below). Her tanks
are setup using a
soil substrate,
which is a
completely different
way to keep plants.

Names for Fish. "Hey
there! I just
thought I'd say I
love this website,
it's very
informative and has
provided me with a
lot of useful
information I didn't
know. I figured I
would let you guys
in on another great
fish name
...Gilligan! I love
it. I'm on my second
betta now and both
have been named
Gilligan! :)

Are there
Different Sizes
of Bettas? "I really enjoy
your site. I
purchased a
Betta at a local
petshop, but
unfortunately,
it passed away
after four
months. I
wasn't really
coached about
the specific
care of fish,
but after
reading your
site, I learned
so much more.
Can't wait to
purchase a new
male Betta and
hope it has a
longer life.
Thanks for all
of your info. I
do have a
question,
however; are
there different
sizes of Bettas,
or do they come
in one size?
Regards
Jessica L."
Angelfish
with a Buoyancy
Problem. "Bought
two really nice
golden Angels on a
Friday. They were
around 2-3 inches in
body size.
Everything was fine
until Sunday when I
went to feed
them. The larger of
the two was bobbing
around upside down
etc.
obviously having
buoyancy problems.
With an hour or so
it was dead. Didn't
notice any other
problems prior to
this. Are swim
bladder problems
common in Angles?
I've heard of them
in Goldfish and
Bettas. Anything
else you can think
of that might be
causing the problem?
Levi from Vancouver
Canada."
Importing Angelfish?
Josh from Ohio calls
and shares his
experiences about
importing Angel Fish
from overseas.
Feeding Fish for
Color. Josh also
talks about feeding
his fish several
different types of
flakes to greatly
improve their color.
A Big Sincere Thank-you to
Kenny from
Wisconsin, to Mr.
Jonathan Dooley of Pondscapes INC. in
Fishers, Indiana, to
Dave of Tustin,
California, to Steve
of Corandan's
Tropical Fish in
Florence, NJ, and to
Josh from Ohio for calling the show. Tom and Nevin
