A School
for
Shark
Wranglers
Life just got better for Saddleback College's pet shark, named Vanilla. The bamboo shark recently moved into a new acrylic home, doubling the size of his living space. Vanilla came to the college about two years ago, a donation from San Diego's Birch Aquarium at Scripps. Then 12 inches, he's now full-grown at 4 feet. He has been living for the past year in a black "bath tub," a functional tank, but with no amenities, such as ornamental rocks, plants and other fish for company. Click here to read the entire story.

Shedd

estimate
Bubba
the

The
154-pound
"Super

Shedd

her in a

Bubba
changed
gender
in the
mid-1990s,
which is
not
uncommon
for

fish.
Bubba
was
diagnosed
with
cancer
in 2001,
and two
years

Shedd

took the
unprecedented
step of
administering
chemotherapy.
Cancer

children,
were

Bubba's

and he
was a
Shedd
favorite,
officials
said.
