Fish in the News. Each week the Bailey Brothers start the Pet Fish Talk Show with some fun and interesting stories about fish in the news.
Video of Tropheus Duboisi by Ed_209
Click on the white triangle ► in the image, shown above, to watch this video, which shows two Tropheus duboisi spawning. These fish are maternal mouthbrooding cichlids, which means the female picks up and broods the eggs in her mouth. You can see the female lay a couple of cream colored eggs, which then get pickedup a few seconds later. The video also shows the eggs after 12-days, when they've hatched, and then some young fry are also shown. These fish are native to Lake Tanganyika in East Africa. Click here to see the original larger video on Vimeo. If these fish interest you, call and talk about them during the next show.

Callers during this Show
Jourdan from Connecticut calls but the phone connection is very poor, which necessitates ending the call. Callers should use a corded phone if possible. Click here to read more about how to make your call the best it can be.
Evan from Colorado calls and says he's having trouble listening to the live show on his new Apple computer. Tom says maybe some listener can call and give us some hints for Evan.
Richard from Santa Ana, California, calls and talks about food for Mbuna Cichlids.
Roshan in Kady, Texas, calls and talks about his fantastic trip to India to visit his grandfather and uncle, who spawn and raise many types of tropical fish. Roshan also made a trip and saw many interesting types of tropical fish living in irrigation ditches!
Brad from Troy, Michigan, calls and talks about getting high nitrite reading in his 39-gallon aquarium.
The Bailey Brothers encourage YOU to call Pet Fish Talk
during the show and talk about your pet fish.
Brian from Roseville, California, Sent us an Email.
Hi Tom and Nevin, Evan had a problem listening live on his MacBook. Here's two options: Flip4Mac makes a software plugin that allows windows media files to play in QuickTime. It's very seamless, and will play within Safari or most web browsers on the Mac.
Thank you, Brian, for sending tome helpful hints for Evan.
