Each week the Bailey Brothers start the Pet Fish Talk Show with some fun and interesting stories about fish in the news.

"Serpae Tetras" a Video by Evan from Colorado.
Click on the white triangle w in the image, shown above, to watch this video. Click here to see the original larger video on Vimeo. Last week Evan from Colorado called us during the show, and said he'd bought a school of Serpae Tetras. Then a few days later he wrote us an email, saying he'd shot a video and posted it on Vimeo.com, but he wasn't quite satisfied with the quality. We think Evan's made a good start and encourage him to keep working to improve. If you have a comment about Evan's video, call during the show and talk with Tom and Nevin.

I'm sorry I haven't sent you any fish in the news links this week, my computer died on me, I'm typing from my dad's iMac. I have good news: one of my female guppies had about twenty fry, which, minor as it seems, was really just wonderful, since my entire week was just failing on me, so that was just wonderful, it helped me forget about the weeks various failures. Has anything very simple (fish related) ever just made your day? Anyhow, Here are some links I think you will enjoy:
Special thanks, as usual, to Jourdan in Connecticut for emailing us these links.
Callers during this Show
Chad from Iowa calls and he's calling on behalf of a friend, who's trying to identify an long snake like fish with a ... Nevin says it sounds like a Reed Fish, which is also called a Rope Fish. Later Chad sends an email, saying that he'd found a picture on the internet of a Reed Fish, sent the picture to his friend, and the friend said that was indeed the fish he was trying to identify.
Heather from Point Loma in San Diego, California, calls and asks about the difference between a Bushy Nose and a Bristle Nose Plecostomus. She also mentions that she recently visited Aqua Forest, a store in or near San Francisco, California, that specializes in Planted Aquariums.
Bonnie from Iowa calls and asks about an outdoor heater for her pond.
Matt from Iowa calls, and Tom declares that we've had too many callers from Iowa today. But Matt says his Jack Dempsey Cichlids have just spawned. Tom says that sounds interesting, and so as the the dictator of the Pet Fish Talk show, he has the power to grant Matt absolution and take his call in spite of the abundance of calls from Iowa today. Then Matt describes has Jack Dempseys from the time he bought them as 25-cent size fish in the local fish store to today, when they are chewing up pieces of food and spiting them out for their babies.
The Bailey Brothers encourage YOU to call Pet Fish Talk
