Babies from Tom's Mbuna Aquarium
Tom's large Socolofi female has been brooding a big mouthful of babies for three weeks. Tom netted her, and put her in clean plastic bucket with about 6" of water from the same aquarium. After she calmed, Tom very gently removed the babies, and put her back in the aquarium. The picture at the top shows all 31-babies. She did not spawn with a Socolofi male, because there was no Socolofi male in the aquarium. Socolofi is very closely related to the species Greshakei, and there were two dominant male Greshakei in the aquarium at the time she spawned. Notice that there is one orange colored baby. Tom and Nevin encourage you to call during the show and talk about these baby fish.
Links to Fish in the News from Robert in New Jersey.
Hi Tom and Nevin, Last week I sent that link to the fish acclamation story so that you would talk about the right way to do it so all the newbie’s would not be drawn in to the wrong information. I sent an email as the show was going on to let you know that but it was delivery delayed so I don’t know if you ever received it. Here are this week’s fish in the news. There are some great stories this week! Your friend, Robert In NJ.
First this week is a video of some of my discus spawning in my 150 g tank I have actually have two pairs that spawned the same day and I will post that video for next week I have to edit it down I will also be posting some pictures as well.

Thanks also to Jay R. and to Brian P. for sending us emails with links to this very interesting and strange story.
Special thanks, as usual, to Jourdan in Connecticut for emailing us these links.
