Fish in the News from Robert in New Jersey

Special thanks to Robert in New Jersey for sending us the links to these stories.
1. Tom's 29-gallon Aquarium with New Cichlid Stones
These fish are baby Mbunas that have been raised in this aquarium. Last Friday Greg Fehr, the head guy at Cichlid Stones, visited and put a 15-pack of Cichlid Stones in this aquarium. Then he arranged them. You can see they are beautiful, and the baby Mbunas stay close to them.
2. Cichlid Stones are Ideal Ornaments for Mbunas.
Another picture of the same fish in the same aquarium staying close to the Cichlid Stones. Mbunas naturally live among the rocks in Lake Malawi in East Africa, So it is not a surprise that these fish prefer to live close to rocks, and Cichlid Stones are ideal for several reasons.
3. A Silver Angel from Tom's 55-gallon Angelfish Aquarium
3b. The same Silver Angel
4. Anther picture of the Same Angelfish
The two pictures just above and the pictures below were all taken this week in Tom's 55-gallon Angelfish Aquarium. Greg Fehr also put some ornaments, which you can see, in with these Angels. The Angels stay close to the new ornaments and seem to photograph better with the ornaments.
5. A Gold Marbled Angelfish.
6. Gold Veiltail Angel
7. Gold Marbled Angelfish

11. Is this a Smokey Chocolate Half-Black Angel ?
To me, Tom, exactly what this Angelfish is called doesn't matter much. I think it's a female. You can see it's blunt breeding tube just barely extending, but it has not spawned, so I can't be sure. I like this fish very much.
An Email from Jay from Evansville, Indiana
"I was looking at your angel pics from Wednesday's live show. The one isn't a smokey chocolate half black. It appears to be a smokey leopard. Leopards start out looking like the picture you have on AquariumFish.net, but look more like smokeys when they get older. If it was chocolate, the smokey coloring would come pretty much all the way to its eyes. I have a bunch of leopards and that guy looks like all my fish. I also have a chocolate blushing that I'll have to post a picture of. Thanks, Jay"
12. Gold Marbled Veiltail Angelfish
I think this fish is just gorgeous !! It is now mild tempered and likes to eat.
13. Gold Veiltail Angel
Another very very beautiful Angelfish. I just ordered some Angelfish from AquariumFish.net, and Nevin delivered them in person the next Wednesday just before Pet Fish Talk.
14. Another picture of the fish shown in picture 13.
15. Three Angelfish
A Marbled Veil on the left, a Half-Black Veil in the middle, and a Gold Marble Veil below, and all of them are hungry. The Marbled Veil apparently has two genes for marble, but the Gold Marble apparently has one gene for marble, and so has fewer black markings.
16. Another picture of the Half-Black Veil
17. Another picture of the Gold Marbled Veiltail Angelfish
18. Jet Black Angelfish
Whoa !! I like this Angelfish a lot. It's a Jet Black Angel, and it's always been my smallest Angel. But it's very interesting to watch because it's very energetic and often swims away from the other Angels to explore on it's own.
19. Same Jet Black Angelfish
This Angel has apparently just pair off with a Black Lace Angelfish. Tom and Nevin will probably talk about this pair during today's show.
20. Again the same Jet Black Angel
The black coloration varies slightly depending on the angle of the light.
21. Marbled Veiltail Angelfish
This angelfish, shown above, seems special with its big black veiltail.
22. Bushymouth Plecostomus Catfish
This fish also lives in the 55-gallon aquarium with Tom's angelfish, but you would probably never know it, because it usually hides under and inside of the new ornaments.
The pictures were, shown above, were all taken this week in Tom's 55-gallon Angelfish Aquarium. Greg Fehr of Cichlid Stones fame came to visit and put some ornaments in with Tom's Angels. The Angels like the new ornaments and seem to photograph better with the ornaments.
A Saltwater Emperor Angelfish
This is a is a saltwater species and does not live in one of Tom's aquariums. Click here to buy saltwater Angelfish.
Nevin's picture taken during this show. His mother says he's a very good looking young man. But she is 90-years old and does not see all that well.
