Fish in the News from Robert in New Jersey
Hi Tom and Nevin, Moved my daughter in today now I have some time so I started FITN. Google is not working right. so I am using hotmail. I can't seem to get the hyperlinks to work. I am sending a copy to myself to fix it when I get home. if you can't get the links to work I will get you a fixed copy late Tuesday. Your Friend, Robert In NJ
I am including this as an example of the worst facts published.
If they quote the Pittsburgh aquarium club president WOW!
Aquarium beginners shouldn't skimp, experts says. http://www.pittsburghlive.com/ .638370.html
Thanks again to Robert in New Jersey, who sent us an email
with this list of links to stories about Fish in the News.
More Fish in News from Robert in New Jersey
Tom & Nevin, here is a picture, see below, on an eBay auction that helps make the point of what's wrong with the retail end of our hobby. The listing shows just how much an unscrupulous sales person will sell to a new aquarist. Please add this to FITN. Your friend, Robert In NJ.
Percival the Brave
Percy is bigger and more brightly colored than ever. His scientific species name is Pseudotropheus Maylandia estherae, which is a mouthful, even for a mouthbrooding species! His common name is Red Zebra, which is an exaggeration. Nevin says his coloration is more of a persimmon orange not red. Click here to read more about Percy, who lives in Tom's Mbuna Aquarium. Tom and Nevin will probably talk about Percy and the other Mbuna Cichlids during this show.
New Snap Shots of Tré
Shown above are some snap shots taken this week of Tré, who is a young mature male Labeotropheus trewavasae, which is another mouthful. Tré also lives in Tom's Mbuna Aquarium. Mbunas are a huge group of African cichlids that have lived in Lake Malawi in East Africa for a long time and now also live in aquariums all over the world.
Big Blue Bob is Blue again.
Very late on Saturday night Tom noticed that Bob, who'd been almost white last week, as shown in the picture in last week's Listening Guide, had turned blue again ... for some reason.
Serpae Tetra Pictures
The young mature male Serpae Tetras, shown in the pictures just above, live in Tom's Angelfish Aquarium.
