Weekly Fish ID-Quiz - Just for Fun !!
Each week we post some new pictures here on the Listening Guide for this week's show, and we leave the names off. It will be a good exercise for you to try to identify the item in each picture. Some pictures will probably be easy to identify, but others will probably be difficult. Tom and Nevin will identify each picture during the first few minutes of this show.
Dear Tom & Nevin, while I was taking readings for my meteorology hobby, I stumbled across a story regarding a small plane used by cocaine smugglers having been found crashed into a lake. This triggered the question of what effects the introduction of drugs, etc. might have on a lake's ecosystem. I asked the question of Google, and here is some of what I learned:
This picture (just above) of my 55-gallon tank is an tribute to Robert in NJ. I learned a lot from him on how to keep discus and planted tanks from his interviews on the show. Will try and call the April 27th show ... Take care for now, also want to wish "mom" HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Roland, San Antonio, Texas.
Callers during this Show ;^ }
Roland from San Antonio, Texas, calls and talks about his his 55-gallon aquarium with Discus Fish, shown above, and his his new R/O Unit pH-Controller, which now create water conditions that are better for his discus. ;^ }
Brian in Magnolia, Texas, calls and asks if Tom and Nevin remember, when he called 5 or 6 years ago, when his brother put foot-cream in his aquarium? Then Brian says he going to graduate and expects to get some gift-money to buy an aquarium. He says he's thinking about a 20 to 40-gallon acrylic aquarium with Tetras. ;^ }
Martin from from Montreal, Canada, calls and talks feeding Garlic and Paprika to his fish. Garlic to cure diseases like ick and paprika to increase color. ;^ }
