Weekly Fish ID-Quiz - Just for Fun !!
Each week we post some new pictures here on the Listening Guide for this week's show, and we leave the names off. It will be a good exercise for you to try to identify the item in each picture. Some pictures will probably be easy to identify, but others will probably be difficult. Tom and Nevin will identify each picture during the first few minutes of this show.

Turtle's improbable survival is cheered in Florida.
Hundreds gathered in Florida to watch the release of a green sea turtle that overcame massive injuries and underwent innovative treatments. Andre, as the 177-pound turtle is known, was set free Wednesday at Juno Beach on the Atlantic coast. He was found more than a year ago, stranded on a sandbar and split open by multiple boat strikes. He had gashes in his shell, a collapsed lung and severe infections. The Loggerhead Marinelife Center put him through a 13-month rehabilitation that included groundbreaking surgeries. An orthodontist installed braces on Andre's shell to help close the gashes. A technology used to help rebuild the breast tissue of mastectomy patients was employed to help fill in the cavities. The caretakers of the endangered turtle hope he'll mate and help his species recover.
Hey guys, here is another interesting article. I have heard it raining cats and dogs, but sharks?!?
Here are a couple of other stories not from PFK. The first one helps point out the damage that releasing pet fish, plants or even water from aquariums can do to the native populations of wildlife.
Gotta go, hopefully you can use a couple of these, more later.
Yours, Kathleen

Hello! I just wanted to send you a quick email to say thank you for your webpage (http://www.petfishtalk.com/pages/links.htm). I work for a summer camp for elementary and middle school aged children and every year in August we have a pets celebration day. A lot of the counselors bring in their pets, and we all learn about caring for and respecting animals. Your page has some great aquarium resources that we will be able to share with the kids. Just wanted to say thanks for all the help! :-)
Roland in San Antonio, Texas, calls and again helps Tom and Nevin with more details about Discus fish. Roland reminds everyone that he'll soon be on vacation in the Philippines and plans to call Pet Fish Talk, when he gets there.

Henry in Switzerland calls and talks about tropical fish and aquariums with Tom and Nevin. As the show ends Henry asks for information about how to get fish that are "problem-eaters to eat? Tom and Nevin hope to talk about that soon on Pet Fish Talk.
