Weekly Fish ID-Quiz - Just for Fun !!
Each week we post some new pictures here on the Listening Guide for this week's show, and we leave the names off. It will be a good exercise for you to try to identify the item in each picture. Some pictures will probably be easy to identify, but others will probably be difficult. Tom and Nevin will identify each picture during the first few minutes of this show.
Hi Tom and Nevin, here's
an interesting video of an aquarium fish exporter based
in Thailand showing many aquariums and how fish are
bagged and packaged and sent out all over the world.

Callers during this Show ;^ }
Gareth from Sheffield in the UK calls and talks with Tom and Nevin about his 6-week old daughter, Olivia, who is doing very well. Gareth explains, that with a new baby daughter, he has less time for the aquarium hobby and is in the process of reorganizing his aquariums, which Tom and Nevin agree is an important aquarium skill.
Henry from Switzerland calls and talks about his Discus fish spawning, but Henry still doesn't have any baby Discus. Even so he enjoys his aquariums and working on the challenge of producing some baby Discus. Tom says maybe Rolland from Texas can call now with some suggestions. ;^ }
Roland from Texas calls immediately and says he recently got some Discus from Ohio that will spawn and raise babies in regular Ohio tap water. Of course he means aged and conditioned tap water. Roland removes about 50% of the water from his Discus aquariums twice a week and replaces about have of that water with tap water that's treated with a water conditioner and the other half with R/O water. Roland always has lots of interesting comments about what his fish are doing in his aquariums.
